Daniel joined Barnes Construction in October 2006 as an assistant design manager completing his degree in Construction Management, having previously spent 3 years at a local architects practice, this developed his keen eye for detail and enjoyment of problem solving either on paper or out on site. Daniel progressed quickly through the design management department working on some extremely complex and very high-profile projects managing large design teams to a successful project delivery resulting in his promotion to Associate Divisional Director in 2024. He is extremely passionate about sustainability and has been driving this forward within the business setting a strategy for our net zero journey. Daniel has worked across all our different sectors gaining exposure to clients, design teams and end users.

Daniel is responsible for leading the design management department with considerable input into the pre-construction and construction processes ensuring our design managers provide continuity from tender to completion on site. He is dedicated to the development of others within the department which has led to the design department becoming an integral part of our management training programme.

As a Chartered Construction Manager, he embraces and understands the importance of risk mitigation and management and as a result leads detailed risk reviews across all stages of a project. Daniel has strong relationships with many design consultants and is always keen to develop new relationships to enhance the business. Daniel is also our primary contact for our in-house development opportunities.
