Dan joined Barnes Construction in 2015 as a Bid Manager following several years working with two national contractors across the East of England, London, and the home counties. Dan worked through various site and office roles in planning, Bid and Project Management, including a stint working alongside LOCOG delivering off-site facilities for the 2012 Olympics before moving into Bid Management permanently.

Upon joining Barnes, Dan helped to develop work-winning processes to support a small and growing team of Bid Managers, Planners, Marketing and Proposals staff, to provide structure to the businesses front-end processes during its continued growth. Dan’s responsibilities extend to the company website, PR and business development roles whilst supporting the Management trainee programme mentoring and training several additions to both the Bid and Planning teams over the years and was promoted to Associate Divisional Director in 2024.

Dan remains heavily involved in two-stage tendering, in particular working closely as a key contact for several local authority frameworks as well as the University of Cambridge and Cambridge Colleges leading our second stage pre-construction teams and transitioning projects through to our delivery teams. He is a passionate advocate for Barnes’ reputation as fair, non-adversarial and wholly collaborative business with our clients, consultants, and sub-contractor supply chains. He is also directly involved in developing our strategy for our net zero journey.
