Chris joined Barnes Construction in 1979 as the first ever recruit to our Management Trainee Scheme and became the first trainee to progress to Director level. After progressing through various roles within Quantity Surveying and Estimating departments, he was promoted to the role of Pre-Contracts Director in 1999

He is responsible for the Pre-Construction Department, which encompasses Estimating, Planning, Bid Management and Marketing functions. Chris enjoys the variety of projects that his department work on as well as the opportunity to build relationships with clients and consultants over time. He has a sound technical knowledge of all construction processes and forms of procurement available and is able to assist and advise clients in developing their schemes from early feasibility stage to the offer of a fixed cost solution that fits their technical, financial and environmental needs. Chris also keeps abreast of the latest construction industry technical innovations including carbon reduction solutions and energy efficiency options.
