An opportunity for on the job training alongside a fully funded degree course at university

The Training Programme
Our Management Trainee programme has been in place for over 40 years, successfully developing the managers of our business. Over 50% of our current head office staff have come through this training scheme, including three current Directors.

Required skills, qualification and experience
We are looking for ambitious applicants who have strong GCSE results and either have or expect to achieve good A level results or equivalent vocational qualifications.

Applicants do not need to have any prior knowledge or experience of the construction industry.

Fully funded degree at a local University
Our trainees will attend university, currently ARU Chelmsford, on a day release basis to study a BSc(Hons) degree in Construction Management. All fees will be paid for by the business.

Rotational departments
There is a huge variety of managerial roles in construction, office or site based, technical or commercial. Trainees will spend a period of time in each of the different departments of the business, including Estimating, Design Management, Planning, Bid Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, and Site Management.

Mentors
In each department, the Management Trainee will work with a training mentor who will explain and demonstrate all elements of the different disciplines. Our mentors have usually come through the training scheme themselves, and so they have a complete understanding from a trainees perspective.

Duration
On completion of the scheme, the Management Trainee will progress to the next tier of management in a role within one of our departments. It normally takes around four years to complete the training scheme.
