THE PROJECT COMPRISED OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SINGLE STOREY COMMUNITY LIBRARY ON THE EXISTING FORMER LIBRARY SITE. THE PROJECT WAS PROCURED VIA A NEC PARTNERING CONTRACT UNDER A FRAMEWORK ARRANGEMENT
The new library accommodation incorporated a library area, IT area, Music studio space and a Drop In cafe
The building was constructed using a steel frame structure with the envelope being formed with a combination of rendered blockwork, decorative cladding and aluminium curtain walling
Key features of the project were:-
- Steel frame structure
- Decorative stainless steel circular cladding to the atrium entrance feature
- BREEAM 'Excellent' Accreditation achieved
- Partnering project using NEC Form of Contract
- Project delivered within budget and to programme
