ENTRIES SUBMITTED BY LOCAL SCHOOLCHILDREN INTO THE 2017 PAINT THE HOARDING COMPETITION AT OUR SITE IN BARKING, ESSEX HAVE BEEN DECLARED ONE OF THIS YEAR’S UK WINNERS.
The photo shows the pupils who painted the entries, along with Deputy Leader of Barking and Dagenham Council, Councillor Dominic Twomey (back right), Wayne Fleet, Site Manager (holding the award), and Mark Whinney, Contracts Manager at Barnes Construction.
Barking Town Hall is currently undergoing major refurbishment and the national competition is organised by the considerate constructor scheme, to promote construction companies’ integration into the local community whilst a project is ongoing.
This news follows on the heels of other award accolades for the good work carried out by Barnes Construction around the region.
Arthur Rank Hospice in Cambridge won the Community Involvement category and Project of the Year at this year’s RICS East of England Awards and Two Rivers Medical Centre in Ipswich picked up an Ipswich Society Commendation Award and was highly commended under ‘New Build – Large Building’ at the RIBA Suffolk Craftsmanship Awards.
