THE PROJECT COMPRISED OF THE FULL REFURBISHMENT OF THE EXISTING LIBRARY FACILITY INCLUDING CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW EXTENSION TO ACCOMMODATE A CAFE' AREA. THE PROJECT WAS PROCURED VIA AN NEC PARTNERING CONTRACT UNDER A FRAMEWORK ARRANGEMENT
An enabling works project was required in order to allow the relocation of the Central Library to a temporary new home at Shire Hall, Bury St Edmunds. This allowed access to all areas of the existing library in order to undertake a full refurbishment scheme in addition to the construction of a new single storey side extension. The refurbishment works included the replacement of all finishes and building services in order to create a new modern library environment
