THE PROJECT COMPRISED OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF 12 TWO BEDROOM FLATS ON A FORMER 'BROWNFIELD' DISUSED GARAGE BLOCK SITE. THE PROJECT INCORPORATED 'MODERN METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION' AND WAS PROCURED VIA A TWO STAGE TENDER ARRANGEMENT
The restrictive nature of the site meant that simplified access and reduced deliveries were paramount to this narrow elongated plot which was surrounded on three sides by residential housing. The use of timber frame construction was therefore selected to aid with the delivery and build restraints imposed by the site layout. The six blocks of two flats were linked by external timber walkways and staircases. Externally, the buildings were clad with a combination of facing brickwork and prefinished low maintenance decorative boarding
