THE PROJECT COMPRISED OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW REPLACEMENT TWO STOREY HUMANITIES TEACHING BLOCK INCORPORATING SIX NEW CLASSROOMS, TEAM ROOMS, UNISEX TOILET FACILITIES, STORE ROOMS AND CIRCULATION AREAS.
The new building was constructed using a steel frame structure supported off traditional foundation bases with a loadbearing ground floor slab. The upper floor was constructed with a metal rib deck type floor with concrete topping. The envelope of the building was formed with a combination of facing brick cavity walls, aluminium windows and curtain walling. The roof was formed using a single ply membrane roof finish laid on an insulated metal roof deck. Internally, new partitions and school quality finishes and fittings have been installed including building services. Externally, the former Humanities block was demolished and a new paved play area formed
